Jason Gonzalez is a tenor from Santa Barbara, CA who has had success in both operatic and concert repertoire. During his 2024-2025 season, he sang the tenor solo in Carmina Burana at Baltimore’s Meyerhoff Symphony Hall under the baton of Andrew Grams, and the tenor solo in Haydyn’s Missa Anguistis at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, as well as several solo concerts with Bach in Baltimore. He also premiered the role of Alexander Scriabin in a new opera, The Death of Alexander Scriabin, by Antonio Sanz Escallón. 

 

This past year Jason joined Tri-Cities Opera as a resident artist, taking part in their productions of Gianni Schicchi (Rinuccio) and La Traviata (Gastone/Alfredo cover), as well as participating in several other concerts and events with the company. From there, he joined Opera North for their 2026 summer festival season where he sang Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, First Crony in The Ballad of Baby Doe, and Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof.

 

Jason holds degrees from Oklahoma City University and the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University. When he’s not singing, he enjoys hiking, stand-up paddle boarding, and being at the beach.
